Sally Kavanagh

Sally ran Masthead Publicity for the past 14 years which initially provided off line promotional and publicity services. Gradually the web became more important to clients and more of her work was concerned with promoting them online than off. In 2006, the company was renamed Atracks Ltd since the original name was causing increasing confusion.

With a background as a physicist, Sally moved into the publicity field through working on the editorial team of various scientific publications, and then as the publicity officer for a plastic coatings company. She still prefers working in the B2B environment, particularly with industry and science related sites.

With the rise in the importance of the internet, she looked for the best way of using her skills in the virtual world and soon realised that her copywriting background was most suited to working with search engines.

Sally first got to know Robin Nobles when she signed up to her online search engine optimisation course, which she completed in 2001. This proved a marvellous foundation for providing optimisation services for clients and more recently this has widened to embrace the wider range of services encompassed by search engine marketing.

Marie Coggin

Marie Coggin
With over 15 successful years and experience in B2B sales and marketing, Marie decided in 1999 she was ready for a completely new challenge. Having become more and more interested in the rapidly evolving internet at that time, she decided to turn her hobby into her business.

In the autumn of 1999, she attended a training session in Toronto being given by John Alexander on search engine optimisation. SEO was very much in its infancy in the UK and Marie instantly recognised that she would be able to put her skills to work in this new internet related environment. The fact that search engine optimisation was so new in the UK made it even more exciting to be involved in an area she was convinced was going to become more and more important, that is online sales and marketing. Having then completed Robin Nobles’ online search engine optimisation course she quickly built up a solid business through driving traffic to clients’ web sites thus increasing their return on investment.

Meantime, John and Robin had set up Search Engine Workshops in North America and, ever keen to keep abreast of the latest developments, Marie attended one of their early workshops in New Orleans where she found the ‘hands on’ approach to be invaluable. Having expressed an interest in providing similar ‘hands on’ training in the UK, Marie was delighted when John and Robin suggested that she might like to consider bringing these very successful workshops to London and beyond.

Marie now combines her client work with presenting at Search Engine Workshops UK recognising the importance that her client work brings to the training room in keeping her up-to-date in the real world of search engine marketing enabling her to pass on this knowledge and experience to workshop attendees
